These works are commission only. They are inspired by my visit to Madagascar in 2008. You can find beautiful replicas of elephant bird eggs in the markets. I wanted one so much, I was happy to deal with the headache of how to get it back to London. It was stopped at customs because the eggs are REAL - the customs officer said they didn't know what they really are, but they didn't want to risk priceless natural artefacts being taken out of the country. I was horrified at my grotesque tourist error. I have been making them ever since.
